The St Marylebone Free Lunchtime Concerts Return! In partnership with the Royal Academy of Music

 

After a summer break, we’re delighted to welcome you back to the St Marylebone Free Lunchtime Concerts! Join us on Tuesday 16th September for an inspiring performance by esteemed musicians from the Royal Academy of Music.

 

Ekaterina Grabova – Piano

 

Concert pianist Ekaterina Grabova was described as “…very fine young artist, who quite simply loves the piano” after her recent solo recital at St. Mary Perivale. Her interpretations earned recognition for its “remarkable musical and technical perfection.” (Christopher Axworthy Music Commentary) Highlights of the next season includes her solo recital debut at Wigmore Hall in November 2025. Ekaterina has participated and performed at major international festivals, including the Rheingau Music Festival (Germany), Tel-Hai Piano Masterclasses (Israel), “Bezszady bezgranic” (Poland), and the Bowdoin Music Festival (USA). She has performed at well-known concert series such as Leeds International Concert Season and Summer Piano Festival at Royal Academy of Music.

 

As a recognition of her achievements, Ekaterina has won numerous competitions, including “Mlody Virtuos” (Poland), “Sforzando” and the Rubinstein International Music Competition (Germany), and the “Steps to Mastery,” Neuhaus Music Festival, and Nutcracker TV Competition for Young Musicians (Russia). Additionally she was honoured to receive the First Prize Grant from the Mayor of Moscow. Ekaterina has worked with a range of esteemed artists during her participation in masterclasses and festivals, including Dmitri Bashkirov, Robert McDonald, Andrzej Jasiński, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Christopher Elton, Vanessa Latarche, Mikhail Voskressensky, Vladimir Tropp, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Victor Derevianko, Soyeon Kate Lee, and Ran Dank.

 

Her recent appearances include performances at Southbank Centre, St. James’s Church Piccadilly, St. John’s Smith Square, Southwark Cathedral and St.Mary Perivale (London, UK); the Shanghai Concert Hall (China); the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Russia); Lielais Dzintars Concert Hall (Latvia) and various venues across the United Kingdom, USA, Israel, Spain, Germany, Austria and Poland. In March 2024, Ekaterina was awarded First Prize at the Coulsdon and Purley Festival Concerto Competition and was invited to perform Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Dominic Grier, during the 2024-2025 concert season which received a warm reception by the audience as well as a kind review from Sussex World Newspaper.

 

Currently Ekaterina is pursuing her master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she is working with professor Mei-Ting Sun. Ekaterina is incredibly grateful to be supported by Talent Unlimited Charity and Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation
