Junior Choir will be meeting for rehearsals at the new time of 9.30am during term-time, from Sunday 5th February 2023. These sessions will take place in the Samworth Hall, straight after 8.30am Holy Communion. Parents/Guardians need to be in attendance, and tea/coffee will be served afterwards.

The St Marylebone Junior Choir was formed in March 2007, to offer a high-quality musical education to the young people that attend the church. It forms a healthy link between the church’s professional music department and the Young Church. Open to all children aged 9 and above, rehearsals take place on Sundays in the Parish Church from 12.30 pm – 1.15 pm in the Crypt Hall. The choir is directed by Will Fairbairn, St Marylebone’s Assistant Director of Music, who prepares them for their main duty; to sing once a month as part of the Sunday Morning Sung Eucharist. They provide music to be sung during Communion accompanied by the organ. They wear cassocks, ruffs and surplices as well as taking part in the main procession during the first hymn. They now have a large repertoire of music by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Cesar Franck, John Ireland, Peter Hurford, Malcolm Archer and Gabriel Fauré among others. In recent months they have expanded these liturgical duites to occasional extra-liturgical events including singing concerts in the church, Christmas carols on Marylebone High Street and a CD recording.

Rehearsals take place on Sundays in the Parish Church from 12.30 pm – 1.15 pm in the Crypt Hall.
