Ella Orehek-Coddington, mezzo-soprano, is in her first year of Royal Academy Opera, under the tutelage of Catherine Wyn-Rogers and Jonathan Papp, supported by a Bicentenary Scholarship. She is also supported by the Tait Memorial Trust, Help Musicians UK and The Ian Potter Foundation. She also recently won first prize in this year’s Blyth-Buesst Operatic Award at the Academy.
Ella graduated from the Academy’s masters programme in 2024 and was awarded the Diploma of the Royal Academy of Music for her outstanding final recital. She previously studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and also has a Diploma of Language Studies from the University of Sydney. Ella previously studied with Barry Ryan OAM and Janet Haney, and has undertaken masterclasses with Susan Bullock CBE and Gerald Finley OC CBE.
She has performed in various opera productions, including the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Mrs Grose in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, the title role in Mascagni’s Zanetto and Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
Praised among his colleagues for his musical intellect and imagination, Bruce Fang is quickly developing himself as a pianist of great virtuosity and versatility. A passionate performer of a wide range of musical styles and genres, Bruce has performed across the UK, as well as in Hong Kong, Salzburg, and his native Beijing.
As a soloist, Bruce has performed in masterclasses with Boris Berman, Joseph Banowetz, Vovka Ashkenazy, Yevgeny Sudbin, and Steven Osborne. An enthusiastic chamber musician, Bruce frequently collaborates with singers, instrumentalists, and composers. He has performed in chamber masterclass with the Endellion Quartet, and in vocal masterclasses with Roger Vignoles, Susan Bullock, Christian Gehaher, Lucy Crowe, and Brindley Sherratt.
Bruce is currently pursuing his Master of Arts at the Royal Academy of Music, where he studies piano with Christopher Elton, and receives song accompaniment coaching’s from James Baillieu. He works frequently with Richard Stokes on Lieder interpretation.
