Kagera Lent Appeal 2025

This Lent we are raising funds for our Mission Partners in Kagera, Tanzania, for much needed equipment for the Labour Ward in Murgwanza Anglican Hospital.

2,041 babies born last year.

Their wish list!
1 examination table, 2 delivery beds, 3 baby cots, 4 radiant warmers, 5 Caesarian section sets, and 6 neonatal CPAP devices, at a total cost of £8,000.

Whatever we can raise towards that goal will make such a difference to mums and babies and may well save lives. In Lent we are encouraged to pray, fast and give.

Please Gift Aid your donation if you pay tax in the UK.

More about the Diocese of Kagera

As a metropolitan parish in the heart of central London, we also have a network of faith that reaches across the globe. One of the key links that we have is with the Diocese of Kagera, starting in 2021 with Dean Amon from Kagera Cathedral.

Kagera has two church schools, a hospital, a theological college, and the ministry of healing as part of their mission They are seeking to build a new cathedral themselves as the present one is too small and is used for their growing youth work.

Their vision: Life given in its fullness” (John 10:10). We seek to provide Holistic mission which is the mission that touches the mind, spirit and the Body as we seek to transform our community, spiritually, mentally and physically

Our links include friendship and visits, prayer, pen pals through the St Marylebone Schools and Young Church, fundraising, Being the Body of Christ – the Universal Church, and learning from each other.

A Prayer

God our Father,

bless, direct and prosper today

the ministry of

the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, Kagera, their two schools,

and their work in healthcare,

and our own St Marylebone Parish Church,

our two schools

and our ministry in wholeness and healing.

May our friendship and all that we do be a work of Your Spirit

and a sign of Your Kingdom.

Amen.
